Community Programs
With locations in Manassas, Warrenton and Woodbridge, Care Net Pregnancy Resource Centers strives to be a vital part of the local community. Not only do we help women in unplanned pregnancies and those who are struggling with a past abortion decision, we also serve as a resource for area churches, ministries, public agencies and institutions.
Youth – Although recent studies show that teens are waiting longer to have sex (CDC), they are still having sex outside the bounds of marriage. In fact, 36.8% of all children are now born to single mothers (Child Trends Databank 2007). And despite Planned Parenthood’s efforts to promote “safe sex,” one in two sexually active youth will contract an STD by age 25 (ASHA 2005).
As part of our mission to promote abstinence, Care Net Pregnancy Resource Centers speaks to area youth groups about sexual purity and God’s plan for sexuality within the bounds of marriage.
Churches – Throughout the year, but especially during Sanctity of Human Life Month (January), Care Net Pregnancy Resource Centers provides speakers to area churches to share testimonies of healing, as well as general information about the ministry and the sanctity of human life.
For many men and women who have experienced a past abortion, this is their first exposure to the idea that abortion can and does have serious side effects, such as anger, depression and fear, and may even be the root cause of a strained relationship with God.
According to Planned Parenthood, more than one in three women will have an abortion by age 45. That translates into hundreds and thousands of men and women in our churches who are in need of healing – God’s healing.

“The first time I heard a speaker from Care Net Pregnancy Resource Centers, I about fell out of the pew,” said one post-abortive woman.

“At the time, the Center Director in Warrenton happened to be attending my church. One Sunday, she got up in front of the congregation and started talking about the ministry. Then, she introduced a young woman who she said was going to share her testimony of how she had received help and healing through the ministry.

“This young woman got up and started to share that she had two abortions. I know my mouth was gaping open. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I had never heard of pregnancy resource centers and I didn’t know that they provided a way for women to heal from abortions.”

It is not uncommon for our HEART (Healing Emotional Abortion Related Trauma) group Bible Studies to gain participants following a presentation by one of our speakers. For many men and women who have experienced a past abortion, our speakers open a door which has previously been closed and locked to a journey of healing through the power of Jesus Christ.
Women’s Groups – We also provide presentations to women’s groups. We share our mission statement, program offerings and volunteer opportunities. We also tell them about other ways to help support our ministry, such as our “Change for Life” Baby Bottle Program.
Prayer – At Care Net Pregnancy Resource Centers, we pray for our churches, our leaders and our community. We pray for every client who comes through our doors, every staff member and every volunteer. We thank God for his mercy and compassion, and pray that those who are contemplating abortion might walk through our doors instead.
Several times a year, our staff and Board participate in a day of fasting and prayer, during which we pray for our pastors, our clients, our friends and supporters, upcoming events and the ministry in general.
We also send out monthly prayer calendars. If you would like to receive a monthly calendar by email, send your request to CareNetPRCs@verizon.net.
