Ultrasounds

Ten years ago, when Care Net Pregnancy Resource Centers received its first ultrasound machine through a generous donation, we had no idea what a tremendous impact it would have on the ministry. In the decade that has followed, we have been able to offer any client seeking abortion, or vulnerable to it, a chance to see her baby before making a final decision.
Recently, thanks to our generous supporters, we were able to purchase a new machine – the Sarano Ultrasound System by Shimadzu. It has a wider screen, clearer images and additional options for viewing preborn babies.
One of the first clients to use the new machine was Vickie (not her real name), who was shocked that she might be pregnant again. She already had four children and she was struggling to take care of them. She said she “just couldn’t be pregnant again!”
Although she was considering abortion, she had a religious background and had been praying for God’s guidance. Her peer counselor discussed her options with her, as well as God’s love and provision. Vickie agreed to come in for an ultrasound.
When Vickie saw the screen, she was in for a big surprise: twins!
“This changes everything,” she said. She had prayed for a sign from God about what to do, and she knew that was it. She would carry the babies to term. Thankfully, her husband is supportive of her decision.
“Ultrasound is such a vital area of our ministry,” said Karen Snuffer, executive director of Care Net Pregnancy Resource Centers. “It has saved many babies and their mothers from the devastation of abortion. It is a critical tool that gives our clients the information they need in order to make an informed choice.”
